ILDIS
International Legume Database & Information Service
General information about ILDIS
ILDIS is dedicated to the study of the plant family
Leguminosae,
which contains just under a twelfth of the world's flowering plants.
Many species are of economic importance.
The aim of ILDIS is to provide a service to legume specialists and
users of legumes and legume products worldwide.
The service includes products obtained from a database of all the species.
ILDIS is a collaborative organisation involving experts and institutions
all over the world.
Organisation
The activities of ILDIS are carried out at the various
centres
or institutions which constitute ILDIS. The
organisation
is managed from a
Coordinating Centre
in the
Bioinformatics Laboratory,
Biology Department,
University of Southampton,
UK.
Newsletter
ILDIS produces a newsletter at varying intervals.
Issue 6 has recently been produced (June 1995).
Although primarily intended for ILDIS participants,
it is available to other people with an interest in the family Leguminosae.
If you would like to be added to our mailing list for the printed version,
please email or write to the Coordinating Centre.
The addresses are given at the bottom of this page.
An electronic version of issue 6 will be available soon via this Web page
(nothing terribly advanced,
just an edited version of the word-processor file).
Products and services
ILDIS distributes information from its
database as
services,
which provide the latest information in answer to a particular request, and
products,
which are printed publications and other materials
which are designed for a whole class of users and are not frequently updated.
