We have been developing a version of the program which will work with the CD under Windows. You can download a freeware alpha-version of the program from our site.

You can get the program in one of the following ways:

1. Download ARJ-archive LEGWIN.ARJ (322 Kb),
   
2. Download ZIP-archive LEGWIN.ZIP (320 Kb),
   
3. Download EXE-file LEGWIN.EXE (762 Kb),
   

1. Download a suitable file from our site;
2. Copy the downloaded file into the directory where the CD "Legumes of Northern Eurasia" is installed to;
3. If necessary, extract the file from the archive, using ARJ.EXE or PKUNZIP.EXE;
4. Run the program LEGWIN.EXE.

Please note: all the data on the CD are optimized for access from MS-DOS. For this reason the Windows version of the program will work rather slowly.

The program for Windows uses the file LEGUMES.INI, located in the directory where the CD was installed to, for access to data settings. So, if you work with the CD without installating it onto the hard drive, you need to copy the file LEGUMES.INI from the CD into a directory containing LEGWIN.EXE. For more detail about the file LEGUMES.INI, see: Description of the file LEGUMES.INI.

For work with color images and multilayer maps under Windows, you should use a videomode with a resolution of 800x600 pixels or higher.

The current version of the program for Windows is not final, and will be changed and modified in the future.
